Online research shows that the first counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Gabon (Republique Gabonaise) were produced in 2006. Although Gabon is a
member of the Universal Postal Union, up to this time (January 2020) they have never formally posted a UPU circular denouncing any of them. We are working
toward having this done soon.
The following images are of counterfeit illegal stamps produced in the name of Gabon. Please remember that the producers of these illegal stamps are not only greedy,
they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.
To find out what stamps are real and legitimate for Gabon visit the UPU WNS website and look at the Gabon section.
Or use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you they are something
other than illegal stamps.
You will find the styles and designs of the following illegal stamps completely different.
Here we go!
All of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates. Many are found as color proofs and many fake First Day Covers have been produced as well.
Many times now (2020) the souvenir sheet sets are separated and are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the
souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and/or experts like myself.
Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are counterfeit illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer
that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer
because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites
then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.
The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe
and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.
If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will
only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.
2006
The first sets produced in the name of Gabon were created by the British counterfeit producer I reference on many pages for many countries. This producer was
heavily into producing counterfeits in the name of many countries starting in the early 1990"s. For some reason he avoided Gabon until 2006. Probably because
he was too busy producing them in the name of so many other countries. Sadly, he set his greedy eyes on Gabon and in 2006 the nightmare began for this country.
This page is the first of many I will present documenting the history of the production. You will see that each year things became worse and worse as the
country and the UPU have done nothing to stop the producers. You will see how other producers joined in on the fray. You will see the number of counterfeits
increase dramatically in present years as the producers and distributors are emboldened by the lack of response from the country and the UPU and the stamp
collecting community as a whole to this crime against everyone worldwide.
It must be stopped!
According to the WNS system no stamps are registered to have been issued in 2006. There are no listings of stamps issued for Gabon in 2006 on the Colnect Catalog.
On the Stampworld catalog there is a listing for one stamp being "issued". Thus we have a conflict.
According to sellers the stamp is numbered 1683 in the Michel Catalog. Why is it only listed there? We have seen many cases where the catalog lists unissued stamps,
rejected stamps and even illegal stamps due to dealer or agency influences. Any way you look at it this stamp appears to have a shady background. Because Michel
is listing it, it is being allowed to be sold. More research is needed. Try to find a cover with it on it. I have seen problem stamps with this printer in other countries as well.
Why is this ITVF printer only here in this year? Before for years were the security printers Cartor, Walsall and Beijing. After Cartor pretty much dominates to present times.
Why is it only listed in Michel?

In 2006 the British producer started slow. Using the Impressor style of sheets he produced three different topics.

In 2007 according to the WNS system Gabon issued one stamp. Both the Colnect and Stampworld catalogs are in agreement with this.

Therefore, any stamp dating 2007 in the name of Gabon other than the issue shown above is a COUNTERFEIT ILLEGAL STAMP!
It appears the British producer "laid low" in 2007. Possible that sales of the previous Gabon counterfeit sheets did not do well. Then again the producer was probably
again too busy with production of counterfeits in the name of other countries in this year.
I could only find this one counterfeit souvenir sheet being offered online dating 2007.

2008
In 2008 Gabon issued 12 stamps according to the WNS system. Both the Colnect and Stampworld catalogs are in agreement with this.
