Information and Reference of Counterfeit Illegal Stamps for Gabon that date 2014

Online research shows that the first counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Gabon (Republique Gabonaise) were produced in 2006. Although Gabon is a member of the Universal Postal Union, up to this time (January 2020) they have never formally posted a UPU circular denouncing any of them. We are working toward having this done soon.

The following images are of counterfeit illegal stamps produced in the name of Gabon dating 2014. Please remember that the producers of these illegal stamps are not only greedy, they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.

Or use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you they are something other than illegal stamps.

You will find the styles and designs of the following illegal stamps completely different.

Here we go!

All of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates. Many are found as color proofs and many fake First Day Covers have been produced as well.
Many times now (2020) the souvenir sheet sets are separated and are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and/or experts like myself.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are counterfeit illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2014

According to the WNS system eleven stamps are registered to have been issued in 2014. The Colnect catalog lists nothing. The Stampworld catalog is in agreement.

The Scott catalog lists only one stamp from the 40 Years of Sino-Gabonese Cooperation souvenir sheet as number 1105. There is a note reading, "An additional item was issued in this set. The editors would like to examine any examples of it.". There is obviously a lot of confusion among the editors of Scott catalog. Don't they even look at the WNS system??? It states right there that the stamp along with four others were issued in a souvenir sheet!

So let us again show what was issued according to the WNS system.

The first set commemorates the 5th Anniversary of Death of Omar and Edith Lucie Bongo Ondimba. They were all imperforate self-adhesive stamps. The two high values were very large and sold in presentation folders.

I do not know why this issue is not listed in Scott catalog. Many used examples exist.

Here we have the only listed stamp in Scott catalog which is the top stamp in the souvenir sheet. Noting sheets of the stamps were issued. One sheet containing strips of the four lower stamps and another sheet containing only the top stamp. Many used examples exist.

It is therefore understood that any stamp dating 2014 in the name of Gabon other than the above issues is a Counterfeit Illegal Stamp!

In 2014 production of counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Gabon returned. Both the globalphila styles and the Russian producer dominate.

Fake First Day Covers abound for this series. Do not let them fool you into thinking they are real. Nothing produced with these counterfeit stamps is worth anything. Yet these cons ask up to $20.00 for one! Avoid!
