Information and Reference of illegal stamps for Kosovo dating 2001 through 2007

In 2000 the British counterfeit producer virtually disappears from making counterfeits in the name of Kosovo. Another illegal stamp producer located in Eastern Europe has taken over production of counterfeits in the name of Kosovo mainly on the topic of EUROPA.

I have found that Kosovo is apparently not a member of the UPU. Thus they are not a member of the WNS System so you will not find any stamps issued by Kosovo there nor are there any UPU circulars on the problem for this country. Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Some exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2022) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2001

In 2001 the Eastern European counterfeit producer continues to make illegal stamp sets in the name of Kosovo. Between 2001 and 2007 this producer makes counterfeit sets mainly on the topic of EUROPA. It is interesting that in 2006 Kosovo did actually start issuing stamps on the topic of EUROPA. To this day in 2022 they have issued sets of EUROPA stamps every year. The counterfeits look nothing like them.

The prominent seller and provider of most of the following imaged counterfeit sets is sstamps on Delcampe. This con needs to go!

You will notice that Sheet 2 has no denomination on the center counterfeit stamp making it a label. Another example of inconsistent design which is constant with illegal stamps because the makers of them are inferior stamp makers in every way.

Here we have a set different than what the Eastern European counterfeit producer was making. Yes, they are produced by the British producer as the style says it all. This image I got from a sale on Delcampe by the con dealer stampshome located none other than in the Netherlands. At present in 2022 on Delcampe the users bacchus and pianiano are selling them. Many sold in the past by others. Avoid!

This one has a purposeful or maybe not purposeful error of date on the lower left counterfeit stamp inscribed 2002 instead of 2003. This sstamps clown wants to act like it is something rare when it is on every counterfeit sheet! With the mass of sales of this counterfeit this sstamps has running it looks pretty ridiculous when he keeps claiming it is rare. The prices asked by this clown say it all.
Avoid the seller and the garbage he is trying to rip you off with!

It appears that in this year the criminal producer did not make those ugly booklets.

It appears again that in this year also the criminal producer did not make those ugly booklets. Another fault (and this is with many illegal stamps) is the fact they do not inscribe where or what the image on the counterfeit stamps portray. How are we supposed to know where or what these landscape images are from? It could be a picture from the criminals back yard!

In 2006 Kosovo started issuing genuine stamp sets on the topic of EUROPA. Here is an image of the genuine set for 2006. Below it are the counterfeits.

Here are notes on this set by a specialist and dealer of Kosovo stamps:
Quantity Printed: 60,000 sets (6,000 pairs of sheetlets)

This issue was bought in large quantities by Europa stamp speculators in during the "Europa- stamp boom period" in 2006-8. When the "bubble" burst, large quantities were "dumped" on eBay and other auction sites for a fraction of the original face value. Errors and Varieties: The set exists in imperforate condition, but imperforates first appeared in the market long after the Europa stamp speculation ended.

I see dealers on eBay trying to sell the imperforate set at high dollar amounts. I suspect thousands exist. When imperforate versions of an issue "appear" suddenly years after the actual issue was released, it usually means a large stock was retained and thus it is "rarer" than the perforated version, but not as "rare" as these dealers want to make it seem. Another question you need to ask in seeing the counterfeits for this year is "why are the lousy dealers offering them asking more for them than what is asked for the genuine stamps?". The answer is simple. Because they want to rip you off for as much as they can before they get caught!

Noting on this counterfeit set that the con dealer sstamps (and others) wants to call the topic "Integration" just like the genuine Kosovo set. This is with intent to deceive you as if it belongs with the genuine set. The counterfeits have nothing to do with integration. The topic of the stamps is a Hot Air Balloon Ride and the subject of the counterfeit souvenir sheet is Children showing Friendship of Nations. Unlike the subject matter used on the genuine set, the counterfeits have nothing to do with Kosovo.

Here I found this set was sold by titophe0513 who is located in France back in 2015. These match with the counterfeits I found to be produced in 2013. Note the style. It is possible and probable there are more that are just not available at the time I have researched the problem. They are the same as many other counterfeits made in the name of many countries. The style is obviously not even close to anything officially produced.

In 2007 Kosovo issued another EUROPA set. The Eastern European counterfeit producer put out another counterfeit set as well. It was the last EUROPA set the counterfeiter made in this style.

Quantity Printed: 35,000 (3,500 sheetlet pairs)
Sheet formats: Sheetlet of 10 with no marginal inscriptions
Errors and Varieties: This set exists imperforate and imperforate on official FDC's.

Here again we see the same dealers asking high prices for even a single set of these. A couple dollars is ok but they are asking close to $7.00 and more when they are obviously all over the market!

Quantity Printed: 15,000
Sheet formats: Souvenir Sheet of the 2 stamp set.
Kosovo Post officially designated this as the 24th stamp issue, even though it appeared after the 25th issue. Errors and Varieties: This sheet exists imperforate and imperforate on official FDC's. It also exists with inverted perforations (through the right margin), leaving the stamps imperforate except on their right sides.

The prices being asked for a normal souvenir sheet are outrageous as you can see. The prices asked might be more appropriate if it were a souvenir sheet with inverted perforations, but for the normal variety? Really?
It should be $5-10.00 and no more due to quantities issued and demand! Not $56-126.00!!

Here again the criminals try to weasel in on the genuine issues. This time more directly as the counterfeits are definitely on the same topic. This time they even numbered them as if they are worth something in a fake limited edition. Avoid!

This is the last set of counterfeits of this style the Eastern European counterfeiter made in the name of Kosovo. All seems to have stopped until 2011.
