SOMALIA ILLEGAL STAMPS
2010 Through 2015

Information and Reference of Counterfeit Illegal Stamps in the name of Somalia Dating 2010 through 2015

Flag of Somalia

Online research shows that the first counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Somalia were produced in 1997. Although Somalia is a member of the Universal Postal Union, up to this time (April 2020) they have never formally posted a UPU circular denouncing any of them. We are working toward having this done soon.

The following images are of counterfeit illegal stamps produced in the name of Somalia. Please remember that the producers of these illegal stamps are not only greedy, they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.

I have found the Colnect online catalog to be helpful in defining genuine stamps. Sadly, they list the unauthorized I.P.Z.S. stamps from 2000 through 2002 as well. Simply because they are going by compromised catalogs rather than what is real. Nothing is listed after 2002.

The Colnect Online Catalog for Somalia Stamps

I have found the Colnect online catalog Cinderella category to be a little helpful but they really have a long way to go. Placing counterfeit illegal stamps in their Cinderella category is their first mistake. Illegal stamps are not Cinderella stamps. Also there are many more counterfeits than shown there.

I have found the Stampworld online catalog to be helpful in defining genuine stamps as well. Sadly, they list the unauthorized I.P.Z.S. stamps from 2000 through 2002 as well. Again, simply because they are going by compromised catalogs rather than what is real. Nothing is listed after 2002.

You will find the styles and designs of the following illegal stamps the same as other illegal stamps produced in the name of other countries.

Here we go!

All of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates. Many are found as color proofs and many fake First Day Covers have been produced as well.
Many times now (2020) the souvenir sheet sets are separated and are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and/or experts like myself.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are counterfeit illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2010

More than likely not every counterfeit illegal stamp dating in this year is shown here. Different ones keep "popping up" on the auction venues all the time. Should you see a counterfeit not listed here, feel free to contact and we can add it to the page.

The first sets produced in the name of Somalia were created by the British counterfeit producer I reference on many pages for many countries. This producer was heavily into producing counterfeits in the name of many countries starting in the early 1990"s. This counterfeit producer was in control of all Somalia illegal stamps until 2008.

In 2010 the British producer appears to try to come back again. A new nightmare producer appears.

In 2010 all the British producers counterfeits I found are inscribed "Somalia".

And that appears to be the last we see of the British counterfeit producers work in the name of Somalia.

In 2010 the Russian based dealers who I believe are also the producers appear. The company is called Topnimarka.com located in Moscow Russia.
The user name was kir30kirill on eBay (account suspended November 2019).
They have created a new website called stamps-world.eu as well in 2019. Everything they are selling on both sites is fake and counterfeit stamps.
They are of pure evil not listing on eBay by country name to avoid detection and mass producing counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of many countries. The "styles" unique to themselves, these people are producing and selling counterfeit stamps at a massive rate dating to current times. They are even producing fake stamps for countries controlled by Stamperija. Stamperija's owner has stated that he knows who most of the counterfeit producers are and has some control over stopping their productions at least for countries he has contracts with. This is not the case for this producer. Being located in Russia, I guess they believe that nobody can stop them. I am exposing them which is the first step.
I will note them all "Russian Made Counterfeit Illegal Stamps".

Should more appear since this freak company produces counterfeit stamps and "back dates" them at will, I will post them here.

A souvenir sheet of 12 appeared in 2011 that was purported to have been printed in China in 2010 that depicts historical locations in Mogadischu and Somalia. Since there was no postal service then, the bogus information is being promoted by a bogus stamp dealer. The reasons this counterfeit souvenir sheet cannot be legitimate were laid out clearly by another collector in the forum this sheet was displayed and discussed about. They are as stated by the member five years after the original posting:

I think by now (5 years later) we can say this was not a real postage stamp issue.
1. Printed in 2010, while a new postal system hadn't been set up until 2013.
2. The country's name is only added in Arab and not in Somali which uses the Latin alphabet.
3. The name says Republic of Somalia. The official name however is Federal Republic of Somalia.
4. The face value of 1000 Shilling was only 3 US cents at the time.
Maybe it was only a promotional issue of some kind. I can't find it anywhere online except for on Stampboards. No offers on eBay and Delcampe.

And that is where this counterfeit souvenir sheet stands to this day.

2011

In 2011 it appears nobody produced illegal stamps. I could find none on the market except this one which is commonly dated wrong by dealers because there is no date inscribed on the stamps. It is verified and shown on the 1999 page which is when it was made. Dealers appear to get easily confused when they see the 2011 date on the side of the souvenir sheet which was simply intended to note the next year of the rabbit which happens every twelve years.
