THE CHAD (TCHAD) ILLEGAL STAMPS
1999 and 2000

Information and Reference of illegal stamps for Chad

Flag of Chad

On January 2, 2001 the postal administration for Chad by request to K.J.S. McKeown (Director of Markets) posted to the Universal Postal Union a circular warning of the discovery of a number of illegal stamps created with their country name that are on the market. The circular is number 8. You can view the circular in its entirety in the PDF file I have linked here.

UPU Circular Number 8

The following images are of illegal stamps produced for Chad. Please remember that the producers of these illegals are not only greedy, they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.

To verify what stamps are real and legitimate for Chad from 2003 forward, visit the UPU WNS website and look at the Chad section.

The Universal Postal Union WNS website

I have found the Colnect online catalog to be helpful although there are "conflicts" between what is listed there and what is listed on the Stampworld catalog.

The Colnect Online Catalog for Chad

Check out their Illegal Stamp section as well. It is upgraded as of 2023 and shows counterfeits that may be missing here.

The Colnect Online Catalog for Chad Illegal Stamps

I have found the Stampworld.com Catalog to be helpful as well although as stated above there are "conflicts" between what is listed there and what is on the Colnect catalog. Namely listing certain years of the abusive Impressor S.A. issues. I have given more details on this on certain pages.

The Stampworld Online Catalog for Chad

Or use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. I have found that Michel and Yvert list many of the Impressor S.A. issues whereas Scott and SG do not. Namely because of no evidence of postal usage. You can obviously see the similarity of the Impressor S.A. issues using the same topics as the illegal stamps. They have been massively produced in all kinds of forms from souvenir sheets, deluxe sheets to gold foil stamps. Certain recent years are being almost exclusively sold by a German dealer who consistently puts in his titles "OFFICIAL ISSUE" as if there is something wrong with them.
Which there is.....
THEY ARE ABUSIVE STAMPS made only to sell to collectors produced in excess of postal needs and as stated above, showing no evidence of postal usage.

You will find the styles and designs of the following illegal stamps completely different.

Here we go!

The following pages will show you how the producer worked in unison with the abusive stamp agent Impressor S.A., slowing down during the years the agent was authorized to print stamps by Chad, and ramping up again during the years they were not. The evidence is the stamps and the illegal stamps themselves.

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Many fake First Day Covers exist as well.
Most times now (2020) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and experts like myself.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "cinderellas", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are counterfeit illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

1999

In 1999 Impressor S.A. is still running rampant in producing massive numbers of sheets and souvenir sheets with topics ranging from Ronald Reagan to Betty Boop. They had gained their first major contract with Chad in 1996. Before that year Chad was a mainly conservative stamp issuing entity. That all changed in 1997.

Evidence of conflict between the British counterfeit producer and Impressor S.A. continues. In 1999 Impressor S.A. produced numerous "sheets" of stamps in sheets of 9. One set stands out titled "Millenium". These depict stamps showing highlights of certain eras. Here is an image of one.

Again, you are now asking, what does this series of Impressor style sheets have to do with the illegal stamps?

The sheets are only listed in Scott Catalog as 806-810. Why? According to one source they are not listed in Michel nor the other catalogs. Note the Lollini logo bottom right. A sure sign something is wrong. Neither of the online catalogs list them. Other countries having Millennium sheets of the same style have denounced them in UPU circulars. Chad has not. Please see the verified counterfeit illegal souvenir sheets of 1 below to see more evidence of the conflict.

Bombshell Update in 2020!

In September of 2020 I was checking back to update newer 2020 counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Chad that are being placed onto the market. These being massively placed by the British producers and their distributors and globalphila, a user on eBay. In "back checking" I was shocked myself when I looked at the above imaged sheet and saw the Mayfair International logo on it. I recently finished the Niger section of the study which fully involved this company in the early years so I am now "keen" to spotting what this company produced. I had not noticed at the time the logo and "assumed" it was an Impressor issue. I was wrong, and because of the Niger study, it all is coming together!

Look at the lower left logo on the sheet. The Mayfair International Ltd. Logo is right there. Mayfair International was a French printing company run by a Mr. Juan Carlos Marino Montero. The company is noted to be the producer of illegal stamps and Montero was taken to court in Niger and convicted of it. He "got off" on the charges filed in France in 2000 by Niger back then. He is completely associated with the Feigenbaum family to this day in 2020. To understand who this person is please visit the Niger section of the Illegal Stamps study. You will be completely shocked!

This "company" worked in these early years in direct conflict with Impressor S.A. by producing many sheets of which many have been denounced as illegal that are similar in style to the Impressor issues of the time. After the trials in 2000 against this guy the company "disappeared" after 2001. These are who I deem to be the "British producers". This Scott listed set and others made by this Mayfair International needs further research.

The following are not listed in most catalogs nor are they on the online catalogs. They have been verified by one of the distributors of illegal stamps as "privately produced" meaning they are counterfeit. The distributor does not list any legal issues for Chad in this year.

1999 Birth of Mahatma Gandhi Counterfeit Illegal Stamps in Strip of 5

This is the one noted in Circular 8.

1999 Japanese Paintings by Hokusai Counterfeit Illegal Stamps in Sheet of 9

This sheet is listed only in Scott catalog as 805. Why? Not listed elsewhere.

Chad 1999 Japanese Paintings by Hokusai Illegal Stamps in Sheet of 9

1999 Millenium Counterfeit Illegal Stamps in Souvenir Sheets of 1

These souvenir sheets are not even listed in Scott catalog nor noted. All have been noted by one of the illegal stamp distributors as being "privately produced". Therefore....illegal. Take a look....Mayfair International logo....again. Exact same style of souvenir sheets denounced as illegal by other countries.

2000

In 2000 Impressor S.A. continues producing massive numbers of sheets and souvenir sheets with topics ranging from Minerals to Wild Animals with Scouts logos. Nobody seems to notice the illegal stamp "elephant in the room" though. I did not either so don't feel bad about it. Look closely at many of the following illegal stamps. They have the Mayfair International logo on them thus not Impressor issues.

The following are counterfeit illegal stamps produced in 2000. They are not listed in any catalog. They are the only issues offered by the counterfeit distributor. I note the distributor is not putting his little "note" on them hoping the confusion will let them slip by you. Don't let it!

I note that known counterfeit illegal stamp dealers are basically the only dealers offering this sheet online. Does even one show a catalog number? Absolutely not!

Again I note that known counterfeit illegal stamp dealers are basically the only dealers offering this sheet online. Does even one show a catalog number? Again, absolutely not!

Of course these clowns would like you to buy these at a stiff price. Avoid!

In 2001 and 2002 the patterns remain the same.... Because Impressor S.A. retained contracts with Chad throughout these years through 2005, the British counterfeit producer remained "conservative" in producing illegal stamps in the name of Chad (Tchad). The number of counterfeit stamps does increase consistently though.
