In 2020 no stamps were issued by Burundi. The Russian counterfeit producer topnimarka dominates production of illegal stamps in the name of Burundi in this year. One of the Eastern European counterfeiters returns with a set as well.

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Many exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2022) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by experts and savvy collectors.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

In my research and searches for illegal stamps in the name of Burundi for 2020, I found one set of counterfeit illegal stamps that is of the same design as earlier sets created by one of the Eastern European counterfeit producers between 2012 and 2014. At least for this set, the year is inscribed on them which is 2020. It is being offered by the rat seller Stamps_and_More located in the Netherlands on Delcampe. This clown is a major seller of counterfeits and should be avoided like the plague. So many have already been ripped off by this clown that it is not even funny. The seller should be removed from Delcampe for selling counterfeit goods for years!

That is all I found being sold in regards to 2020 Burundi counterfeit stamps other than the topnimarka brand.

The Russian based company has produced the following counterfeit illegal stamps dating 2020 in the name of Burundi. They are not commonly seen on the main stamp market because we are fighting for you to keep them off the main market. Should this company be allowed to run accounts on the main stamp venues like eBay and Delcampe, you will see a new flood of illegal stamps worse than ever seen before. This company is consistently trying to create new accounts on the venues to move them into the main stream market. Should you see them on sites like eBay and Delcampe, you can report them to me and I can assure you that they will not be there long!

I have discovered that this company is producing counterfeit stamps in later years and back dating them. For Burundi, this is the case for a couple of sets dating 2020. He has produced 46 different sets dating 2020 of which 2 of the sets were made in 2022 and back dated. More could be added at any time. Avoid them all!

I note for 2020 that the criminal producer appears to have stopped production in the later part of the year due to the pandemic. In 2022 the criminal has started up again and appears to be trying to fill in "the voids" in 2020 and 2021 counterfeit sets by back dating. I expect to see more back dated sets appearing as "new issues" unless the war in Ukraine and the massive sanctions against Russia hold this criminal up from progressing.

The sanctions have stopped numerous criminal dealers based in Russia from selling outside of Russia. Maybe it will run them out of business but that is doubtful. The rats are already attempting to sell through other criminals they associate with in countries outside of Russia to avoid the sanctions. I do hope that if that is the case, those criminal dealers are caught and punished severely.

These first sets on the topic of butterflies shows us the intent this criminal had in 2020 to probably increase production even more than the previous year. Indeed, it is one of the only good things coming from the pandemic. It messed these criminals up!

In 2021 a couple stamp sets were produced legally in the name of Burundi. The criminal topnimarka continues but due to the pandemic the production of counterfeits is greatly reduced. Over half of the sets being produced in 2022 and back dated!
