Or use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you they are something other than illegal stamps.

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Some exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2019) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2017

The production of illegal stamps for Madagascar continues. Namely because of no retaliation against dealers of them and no new circulars being generated at the UPU since 2016. Madagascar has been consistently updated with their new issues on the WNS system so you can depend on the system telling you what has been officially issued. My advise is to not buy the newest Madagascar stamps unless you buy them directly from the post or wait until they are listed on the WNS system.

The 2016 circular 39 again stresses that you can view all legally issued stamps for Madagascar on the WNS website.

The same dealers (or should we call them "stealers") are selling them. More evidence they are connected with the illegal stamp producers hands down! Why? Because they are selling them during the year of production!

The following key sellers are proudly pumping out 2017 illegal stamps on eBay as of and before March 2019. I note very few "Eastern Europe made" illegal stamps in the name of Madagascar were made for 2017.

One has them noted as Cinderella Souvenir Sheets. They are not Cinderella's! They are illegal stamps run off on a cheap printer by and for a stamp dealer bent on RIPPING YOU OFF!!
As for all the others offering this junk today...they all say nothing and are calling them stamps. Total deceit.

In 2017 Madagascar officially issued 24 stamps according to the WNS system, Colnect Online Catalog and other catalogs. Apparently there is some confusion for this year in the Scott catalog. I will note the discrepancies with the images below.

It seems none of the online catalogs nor the WNS system list this souvenir sheet. Scott catalog does. Why the conflict?

Here we have another conflict. In the Linn's Stamp Newspaper July 16, 2018 Scott New Listings Updates only 10 of the 22 stamp set are registered under Scott 1652. The 10 all were printed on one pane. The other pane of 12 stamps is not shown nor registered.
Also the date of issue year is wrong. Scott catalog stating they were issued in 2016. This is probably because the year posted on the stamps is 2016. They were just held and not issued until 2017.
This needs to be corrected and updated. These stamps were issued almost two years ago now. Long enough for any catalog to "get it right".

Yet another conflict. In the Linn's Stamp Newspaper December 18, 2018 Scott New Listings Updates the issue date is wrong stating it is 2016. This again is probably because the year date on the stamp is 2016. It was just held and issued later in 2017.



It is therefore understood that any stamp dating 2017 (other than the above issues) in the name of Madagascar is a counterfeit illegal stamp!

It is in 2016 that this criminal actually started producing illegal stamps in the name of Madagascar. We can see this as the sets produced dating 2014 and 2015 are all back dated. When I updated this page in early 2020 after discovering this clown on eBay, we did not know the extent that this criminal producer had gone in producing counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Madagascar. We found after finding this companies websites that it is much worse than originally thought. This section now added in 2021.

For 2017 sets in the name of Madagascar I have found that 7 sets were back dated. They have produced 21 different sets dating 2017 and could add more at any time. Avoid them all!
