This souvenir sheet came onto the market after the liquidation of the Format International Security Printers Ltd. in 1988. It was thought at one time that there were only 300 souvenir sheets that existed. This was stated by Kasimir Bileski. Evidence shows that the whole print run was saved and the quantity that exists is closer to 5,000 perforated and 1-3,000 imperforate.

A number of the souvenir sheets perforated, imperforate proofs came onto the market after the liquidation of the Format International Security Printers Ltd. in 1988. There are some varieties that are legitimately rare. Also full uncut press sheets of some issues have an extreme rarity factor.
It is noted in Stanley Gibbons that the set exists perf 14. It also notes that there is evidence that the perf 14 stamps were produced in 1990. This is wrong unless the House of Questa did it because the Format Printers closed their doors in 1989. It is possible though that they were produced earlier and somehow came onto the market after the liquidation somewhat similar to the case with the Guyana 1990 Birds set.

It is noted in Stanley Gibbons that an unissued set exists of similar designs but with only the Latin inscriptions for the species. At the time I created this page I could not find one example such as this on the market.
