SARK ISLAND SHIPPING COMPANY CARRIAGE LABELS

Sark Island Shipping Company Private Carrier Labels printed by Format International Security Printers Ltd.

The Isle of Sark Shipping Company are the official agents for the delivery of mail / parcels between Sark and Guernsey (since October 1969).

On July 14, 1980 the company issued a souvenir sheetlet of 5 carriage paid labels plus a label showing their company flag which is flown on their boat. Apparently nobody knows that it was the Format International Security Printers who printed them. The evidence is what was found in their archive and sold in the final sale of the archive in 1995. The art "roughs" and 125 proofs were found in the archive which is proof that the Format Printers produced them.

Information is vague on the issue on the internet. Anyone with more detailed information on the set is welcome to contribute.

These are the only Sark Island Shipping Company Private Carrier labels printed by the Format International Security Printers Ltd. and apparently the only set of labels the Sark Island Shipping Company ever had made.
