These were the last unoverprinted stamps printed by the Format International Security Printers Ltd. for Nicaragua. The country soon after went into political turmoil.

The following two sets were produced but never issued without overprints on them. A surplus of unoverprinted stamps was discovered
in the archive during the liquidation of the company.
1979 UNISSUED DEATH CENTENARY OF SIR ROWLAND HILL

This set without overprints exists in an unknown quantity. At one time it was considered quite rare. Due to
the availability of this set without overprints on the market from known holders of the material I estimate at least
3-5,000 sets exist.
The set was overprinted in 1980 with various overprints by the Litografia Nacional Printers who also made the souvenir sheets.
These sets are listed in Stanley Gibbons. They are not in Scott Catalog.

This set without overprints also exists in an unknown quantity. At one time it was considered quite rare. Due to
