SAINT VINCENT GRENADINES UNION ISLAND LEADERS OF THE WORLD 2ND SERIES $3.00 TRAINS PROGRESSIVE COLOR PROOF STAMPS
1925 Class U1 2-8-0 + 0-8-2, U.K.
Scott Catalog Number 58
Pane Number 3032/D SHEET 81D
I have discovered what appears to be a new variety on all the Union Island 2nd series trains high values found in the police evidence
stock. The differences are subtle but definite!
For the $3.00 Value:
1.)One is a lighter shading of colors than the other.
2.)The lighter shade variety has lighter finer inscriptions.
3.)The gum on the lighter variety appears to be yellowish Gum Arabic versus the darker variety having a grayish toned PVA Gum!
4.)The paper on the darker shaded varieties is still toned whereas on the lighter varieties it is very white.
Nothing anywhere mentions these varieties.
Here is an image comparison of the Final version of both varieties.

Noting the best example showing the darker variety has paper that is toned.

Normally there were 3000 pairs of each of the 1925 Class U1 2-8-0 + 0-8-2 Train Stamp progressive color proofs made for Saint Vincent Grenadines Union Island.
Due to the fact of these new varieties existence and the observations of what was sold on eBay I have come to the conclusion that two separate
printings of the 2nd series trains color proofs were made. This particular series seemed more abundant in the random lots that were sold on eBay.
Therefore for this series it is most probable that 3,000 sets of each variety exist.
