Information and Reference of illegal stamps for Iraq and Kurdistan according to U.P.U. Circular 2013 No. 61

On May 6, 2013 the postal administration for Iraq by request to K.J.S. McKeown (Director of Markets Development) posted to the Universal Postal Union a circular warning of the discovery of a large number of illegal stamps inscribed Kurdistan that are on the market. 2005

Stated on the maganstamps website:
In 2005 a new set of 23 stamps appeared. The designs on the stamps are a mixture of previous issues but with new values and completely new designs which would not have been possible in earlier years. e.g. a Kurdistan Airlines airliner and scenes at Erbil Airport. The stamp values are now much higher and the set has 6 stamps valued at 50 ID, 10 at 150ID, 3 at 300ID, and 4 at 500ID.

The set they image is the same image of the 2001 Definitives issues. The above described set is the only set made in 2005. Kurdistan itself, did not produce any more stamps until 2007.

Sadly, along come the British illegal stamp producer. For more detailed information of who this is, please visit the Niger section of the study.

In 2005 the British producer created a massive quantity of illegal stamp souvenir sheets in the name of Kurdistan. They are being sold to this day in 2022. They have been massively sold in the past and are spread across the world in collections and dealers stocks.

This one in recent times being offered by the criminal dealer member389845 who wishes to claim it to be a 1998 "issue". Obviously, it is not.

Paintings

All of the following paintings illegal souvenir sheets have the label celebrating the 2005 San Luis World Chess Championship even though they have nothing to do with it. Many of these in recent times being sold by the criminal dealer in Russia by the user name mapka in bulk lots of 10 of the same sheet selling at 99c! Worthless!

After this charade put on by the British illegal stamp producer, things went "quiet" in production of illegal stamps in the name of Kurdistan until 2007.
