GUINEA REPUBLIC ILLEGAL STAMPS
2009
Information and Reference of illegal stamps dating 2009 for the Republic of Guinea
Because there is so much confusion on this country you should use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to
convince you the following displayed stamps (that are watermarked "ILLEGAL STAMPS") are something other than counterfeit illegal stamps. Because in many cases Michel
is the only catalog listing certain issues I do not trust them as a reliable source. The same goes for Yvert. In the majority of cases with this countries stamps that
are suspect of being illegal, just try to find a genuinely used one on a cover. You will find it.....impossible.
None of the Republic of Guinea stamps are listed on the UPU's WNS system. This is because none of them follow the rules set forth by the UPU for stamp printing.
I have found the Colnect online catalog to be helpful but confusing. Over 12,000 listings there now caused by the abusive stamp agencies.

Check out their Illegal Stamp section as well. It is far from complete but will help you verify many as well.

I have found the Stampworld.com Catalog to be helpful as well. Noting they stopped listing after 2013. This is probably because all the Stamperija
issues are sold directly through the agent and not used in the Republic as stated on the Colnect site for the later years.

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Many exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2021) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets
and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions.
Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer
that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer
because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites
then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.
The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe
and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.
If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will
only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.
2009
Up until 2009 after the 2005 EUROPA fiasco, no more illegal stamps in the name of the Republic of Guinea have been discovered. In 2006 the Stamp agent
Stamperija gained their first official contract to print stamps for the country. Sadly from that point forward to this day in 2021 this agent has
produced a massive quantity of stamps unrelated to the country of which virtually none are even seen in the Republic of Guinea. All being sold directly
from the agents website. All of them are considered to be abusive stamp issues.
It has been stated by the owner of Stamperija that he has "some control" over some of the illegal stamp producers. This showing us he knows who
they are. As stated, they do not want to have to deal with legal actions Stamperija could take against them should they try to produce illegal stamps
in the name of of countries controlled by Stamperija during the years the agent controls them. We can see this to be the case yet again with the
Republic of guinea. Stamperija gains contract in 2006 and no more illegal stamps are produced by the British producers nor the Eastern European
producers up to the present time in 2021. Interesting yes?
In 2009 this company produced a massive set of souvenir sheets on the topic of Paintings. What is very wrong with this set is the discovery that
the exact same set has been placed on the stamp market with denominations that differ from the denominations found on the actual "official" series.
Those being the ones offered and sold directly on the Stamperija website! This discovery first introduced on the Colnect catalog shown in the
Cinderella section. There you find 400 listings on them describing them all as illegal!
In studying this portion of the site we see that all of them are categorized in the "emissions" as "Illegal". We find that only the single stamp
souvenir sheets and the corresponding stamps from those sheets have the added description at the bottom of each stating for example "items with
2.500 FG should be destroyed - normal issue = 29.000 FG". We find that all the souvenir sheets of 8 and their corresponding stamps do not
have this description. They should have it. All the counterfeit souvenir sheets of 8 have the value 350 FG on them. The "official" souvenir sheets
have the value as 5000 FG!
So who is selling these counterfeits?
On eBay
eliwag03 located in the UK
On Delcampe presently selling in 2021
spstamps located in Greece
costy007 located in Romania
fphila located in Turkey
sanmarino71 located in Croatia
No sales made on Delcampe for them.
On Hipstamps
albumguy located in the US
We see not a lot of dealers at present selling them but they are out there. All the dealers listed say nothing thus another example of how
dangerous and deceptive the stamp market is. In this case caused by a stamp agency too greedy or lazy to destroy a set that was unauthorized to be produced
or made in error although I will bet that the Guinea postal authorities don't even know about the "official" set considering it is not sold
in the Republic of Guinea!
Here are images of them watermarked with the "ILLEGAL STAMPS" watermark to raise awareness of the existence. The recommendation
is to avoid all issues produced by this agent to present time in 2021 because they are all considered abusive stamps.
First, here is a snapshot of one listing in the Colnect Online Catalog.

This shows you that every single souvenir sheet from the set of 40 souvenir sheets exists with these illegally produced and distributed stamps. The
quantities produced are not known yet it is conceivable that it would be the same as the "official" issues thus a massive number. Beware!
All appears quiet until 2013 when another Stamperija debacle happens! This time they denounced some themselves!
