Information and Reference of Counterfeit Illegal Stamps for Gabon that date 2009

Online research shows that the first counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of Gabon (Republique Gabonaise) were produced in 2006. Although Gabon is a member of the Universal Postal Union, up to this time (January 2020) they have never formally posted a UPU circular denouncing any of them. We are working toward having this done soon.

The following images are of counterfeit illegal stamps produced in the name of Gabon dating 2009. Please remember that the producers of these illegal stamps are not only greedy, they are crude and sometimes disgusting which is the nature of these people.

Or use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you they are something other than illegal stamps.

You will find the styles and designs of the following illegal stamps completely different.

Here we go!

All of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates. Many are found as color proofs and many fake First Day Covers have been produced as well.
Many times now (2020) the souvenir sheet sets are separated and are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions and/or experts like myself.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are counterfeit illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2009

According to the WNS system two stamps are registered to have been issued in 2009. There are three listings of stamps issued for Gabon in 2009 on the Colnect Catalog. The Stampworld catalog is in agreement with the WNS system showing only the two stamps. Thus we have a conflict.

First I will show the two stamp issues that are present and listed in all the catalogs.

The conflict is the following imaged stamp.
Why is it listed in Scott, Michel and Yvert catalogs but not listed on the WNS system in 2009? According to the WNS system it was issued in 2010. This means both the Stampworld catalog (by not listing it under 2009 which is correct) and the Colnect catalog by listing it under 2009 is causing conflict. This needs to be corrected.

It is therefore understood that any stamp dating 2009 in the name of Gabon other than the above issues is a Counterfeit Illegal Stamp!

In 2009 the British producer began producing more "advanced" counterfeit stamps in the name of Gabon. He started producing "varieties" for the counterfeits as deluxe souvenir sheet sets and color proof sets.

In 2009 the British producer created a few more counterfeit souvenir sheets like the above which are the same style as the 2008 counterfeits. In my research to find the 2009 counterfeit illegal stamps I came across the following artist signed die proofs. I could not find any "final" souvenir sheets with these counterfeit stamps on them. Maybe they exist. These artist die proofs have the signature of the artist on them. Perhaps someone can recognize the signature and identify this artist?

The British producer began producing the standard style of souvenir sheets of 4 in the name of Gabon which is used in the name of many countries in this year.

He then had color proofs produced of the counterfeit illegal stamps, selling them at extremely high prices as if they are something "rare".

He then took it even further having fake deluxe souvenir sheets of the individual counterfeit stamps inscribed with different Olympic events produced along with fake color proofs of each of them! This "process" being done with many of the sets shown below. Avoid all of this junk! A total rip-off.

This is when the producer began making larger sets of counterfeit souvenir sheets and "varieties" in the name of Gabon.

In 2010 the British producer appears to have only produced one large set. Sadly a new counterfeit producer begins.....
