GUINEA REPUBLIC ILLEGAL STAMPS
2013

Information and Reference of illegal stamps dating 2013 for the Republic of Guinea

Because there is so much confusion on this country you should use a respectable catalog like Scott or Stanley Gibbons. Do not listen to these dealers trying to convince you the following displayed stamps (that are watermarked "ILLEGAL STAMPS") are something other than counterfeit illegal stamps. Because in many cases Michel is the only catalog listing certain issues I do not trust them as a reliable source. The same goes for Yvert. In the majority of cases with this countries stamps that are suspect of being illegal, just try to find a genuinely used one on a cover. You will find it.....impossible.

None of the Republic of Guinea stamps are listed on the UPU's WNS system. This is because none of them follow the rules set forth by the UPU for stamp printing.

I have found the Colnect online catalog to be helpful but confusing. Over 12,000 listings there now caused by the abusive stamp agencies.

Check out their Illegal Stamp section as well. It is far from complete but will help you verify many as well.

I have found the Stampworld.com Catalog to be helpful as well. Noting they stopped listing after 2013. This is probably because all the Stamperija issues are sold directly through the agent and not used in the Republic as stated on the Colnect site for the later years.

Many of the following illegal stamps can be found as imperforates and as color proof sets as well. Many exist on fake First Day Covers too.
Most times now (2021) the souvenir sheet sets and sheetlet sets are sold individually. Many times the stamps have been removed from the sheetlets and souvenir sheets. All of these "tactics" are used to avoid detection by UPU circular descriptions.

Sellers that call these "private", "locals", "Cinderella's", "unauthorized" are deceiving you. They are illegal stamps produced by a stamp dealer that is bent on ripping you off! Some sellers state "we offer them because they are on the market". Well how about you use a different dealer because that seller is "on the market"? If the stamp societies, auction sites and all other venues kicked these sellers off of their sites then they would have to comply or lose their ability to sell anything.

The following images are free for the use of all to use to alert the public to them. If anyone wants to make a public list of users on eBay, Delcampe and elsewhere who are selling these issues....fine by me since the UPU, PWMO and others appear to have given up or have not been updated in years.

If you have purchased any of these stamps from a dealer or if that dealer offers them, you should avoid that dealer! You will only be supporting illegal stamp makers who are only ripping you off.

2013

Up until 2009 after the 2005 EUROPA fiasco, no more illegal stamps in the name of the Republic of Guinea have been discovered. In 2006 the Stamp agent Stamperija gained their first official contract to print stamps for the country. Sadly from that point forward to this day in 2021 this agent has produced a massive quantity of stamps unrelated to the country of which virtually none are even seen in the Republic of Guinea. All being sold directly from the agents website. All of them are considered to be abusive stamp issues.

It has been stated by the owner of Stamperija that he has "some control" over some of the illegal stamp producers. This showing us he knows who they are. As stated, they do not want to have to deal with legal actions Stamperija could take against them should they try to produce illegal stamps in the name of of countries controlled by Stamperija during the years the agent controls them. We can see this to be the case yet again with the Republic of guinea. Stamperija gains contract in 2006 and no more illegal stamps are produced by the British producers nor the Eastern European producers up to the present time in 2021. Interesting yes?

In 2013 this company produced a massive set of souvenir sheets on the topic of Animals. What is very wrong with this set is the discovery that the Butterflies portion of this series has been placed on the stamp market with denominations that differ from the denominations found on the actual "official" series. Those being the ones offered and sold directly on the Stamperija website! This discovery first introduced on the Stamperija agents own webpage on illegal stamps. It was posted there in 2014.

After seeing it on their what I call "funky little illegal stamps webpage", I went on a search to find out if they were being sold anywhere and not to my surprise I found them easily. What is surprising is one form they are being sold in. Color proof sets! So I dug a little deeper and found two more topics made by Stamperija that are not mentioned on the funky little illegal stamps page. I will display them below.

So who is selling these counterfeits? I did not find them on eBay.

I found them on Delcampe!

JandR_Stamps located in the UK (this guy is Roger West's little side kick seller who sells on commission for him because he was kicked off Delcampe for selling counterfeits. Roger West owns Avion Stamps and is the user rogerpo99 everywhere and he has other user names as well like.....)
atmospheric located in the UK (aka Roger West aka rogerpo99)

On Hipstamps

rogerpo99 located in the UK (of course)
W4Stamps located in the UK (aka eren3049 on eBay)

As shown on the 2009 page (also being sold by the same clowns) these counterfeits are produced by Stamperija and should have been destroyed. Instead they were peddled off to the criminal illegal stamp dealers to make profits from. We can see by the "funky little illegal stamps page" that Stamperija is trying to weasel out of the responsibility by saying they are on different paper and such. I am pretty certain if they went through forensic testing that statement would be found to be untrue. Exact same format and exact same imaging as the official "stamps". Just a different stamp image, different value and different label at bottom of the stamp. There is no way the illegal stamp producers are going to make counterfeits of official stamps as that can surely put their dealers in jeopardy of arrest because they are definitely made to defraud the postal service. Here is a snapshot of the Stamperija report.

So, if it were the case that these are counterfeits, why isn't Stamperija having this Roger West, JandR Stamps and w4stamps arrested for selling counterfeits in the UK? Do you see my point? It is simple. Because they are all in a collaboration.

Here are images.

First an official issue.

Now one of the counterfeits.

Sorry that the second image is "blurry". This is by design of the seller to hide details. We can see the label and image on the stamp are changed. also the girl looking through the magnifying glass has her eyes open on the official issue. Placement of the background, ornaments, the girl ect. are all the same. Of course the colors are "different". It is probably a first run edition and the final official issue is the redesigned version. It has been shown by others that Stamperija has reprinted issues numerous times and have extreme color differences. Because the agent prints their own stamps in an insecure setting with no documentation or safeguards against illicit behavior, the statements shown do not hold water. The following shows you why.

Here are the three versions with matching color proof sets all coming from the same source. Note the difference in colors on the final proofs. It shows you how much images can change so you really don't know the exact colors as even the images of the official versions can be different than actual.

Again same background with the stamp changed. So why isn't this one listed on the Stamperija illegal stamps page? Here are the three versions with matching color proof sets all again coming from the same source. Note again the difference in colors on the final proofs.

How many more Stamperija issues have this problem? We will never know because there is no transparency. Only when you do the research will you find problems like this. Problems both sides hope will be forgotten so they can continue to abuse the stamp market. Is it not obvious given it is the same people involved....again.

The production of counterfeit illegal stamps remained halted until 2015 when the evil Topnimarka.com attacks the market with a flood of counterfeit illegal stamps in the name of the Republic of Guinea.
